I know what these so-called marketers are learning. Over the past 20 years I've purchases hundreds of marketing courses. Hey, I'll be the first to admit that I'm a marketing junkie. I love marketing and the important impact it makes in a business. For one, and this is a biggie, it's the literal key to a well structured businesses success.

Let me share a little about myself so you see I'm very qualified to have this conversation with you...

My 37 Years Of Marketing Experience With The Many Successes I've Had, and The Massive Amount Of Money & Time I've Invested To Master Marketing Qualifies Me To Have This Discussion With You!

Okay, who am I to make such a statement. My name is Bradley Chesnut. I’ve spent the last 37 years mastering marketing and copywriting. My parents, my uncle's and my grandparents are all independent business owners. I was raised and groomed to be a business owner with everyone important to me and who I respect around me being a business owner. I knew this was my destiny.

Knowing this, I also knew that the key to success in business, any business, was marketing. It wasn't enough to have a great product or service. You had to know how to market it.

My very first mentor was Jay Abraham the greatest marketer in existence. Not doing anything half assed I went to his $25,000 protégé live training course. It was a MBA level training class!

From there I started studying under Dan Kennedy who’s one of the greatest copywriters in the world. Copywriting is using words, images and more to compel people to an action. It's all about the creation of the marketing piece that goes with the marketing strategy.

I knew it took knowing both, marketing strategies to include business optimization strategies and it took copywriting which is the art of crafting marketing pieces which compel people to an action.

I heavily invested into learning marketing and copywriting.

I took these skillsets and, making a long story short, I took my very traditional business I was a partner in back in 1985 and increased their revenue by over 20 times, and then we created offices in 9 more locations in a very strategic way. The business was wildly successful blowing the minds of our competitors! 

But none of that would've possible if I hadn't invested into marketing and copywriting, and learning how to do it right.

Like I stated above, I knew very early on that the key to success with any business hinged on its ability to effective market the business and their products and services. Marketing is bluntly the difference between those who succeed and those who fail. I've watched this point be proven over and over again the past 37 years.

Over the past 37 years I’ve helped hundreds of businesses to prosper and grow. Back in 1993 I helped a business who was only doing $20,000 of revenue in a good month to generating $200,000 of revenue 3 months later… 10 times what they did in a good month. Within 6 more months they were doing $1,000,000+ of revenue a month, and never looked back.

I just shared a little about me above. I get into a lot more details of who I am and my credentials on the Why DIY Courses page. Here's a 'copy and paste' of some of what was shared about me on that page:

Mr. Chesnut's expertise in marketing began in 1985 when he purchased his first course from Jay Abraham. Back then he studied under Jay Abraham to learn "marketing strategies" and Dan Kennedy to learn how to create compelling "marketing pieces". It takes both to succeed!

In January the company did $200,000 of business and in another 5 months the company was doing $1,000,000 of business and they never looked back. They became the fastest growing and most successful company in their industry. When Mr. Chesnut started working with them they were still in the startup phase.

It's all about marketing.

There were other competing companies that offered a better product. Product wasn't the key. It was the marketing put in place that allowed this company to experience such massive growth.

In 1994 he created his first marketing courses for a niche industry he has a lot of experience in, the insurance industry.

The courses were wildly successful. Insurance agencies called the two courses he created their "Marketing Bible". 

Twenty years later he met one of the agencies who purchased his courses. They raved about the courses and said these courses were the reason they were able to grow such a large thriving agency. It really warmed Mr. Chesnut's heart to hear this.

I love marketing, and I understand it at a very deep level. It makes sense to me. After I sold my interest in the business in 1989 I became a full-time marketer helping other businesses to effectively market their business.

Then in the late 1990’s a course creator started marketing a course on selling online marketing services to offline businesses.

Their massive success in selling this $1,995 course created a whole new industry of course creators creating courses on selling different online marketing strategies to people teaching them how to sell the marketing strategy to offline businesses. This is when everything changed. Let me explain.

Professional Online Marketers Tapped Into A New Market Place... Teaching People With Absolutely No Marketing Experience At All How To Sell Online Marketing Strategies to Offline Businesses!

What the course creators who were professional online marketers were doing was taking a specific online marketing strategy and teaching people desperate to create their own home-based business how to sell this strategy to offline businesses. The high majority of the people who purchased these courses had absolutely no marketing experience at all!

Picture it... the internet was relatively new and using the internet was a new approach to marketing which made it semi-easy to sell these "new" strategies to offline businesses so they'd be the first in their market place to take advantage of them.

It's not that these strategies were bad, they were actually pretty darn good. The problem was the marketer selling them and then implementing them didn't have a full and complete understanding of marketing let alone the uniqueness of the offline business and offline marketing. Because of lacking this knowledge they were putting them in place incorrectly or were missing key factors which played an important role in how they should be implemented for maximum effectiveness!

This was the story case after case.

I went from helping businesses with their marketing to fixing the marketing put in place in businesses. This became my full-time job, and it was extremely frustrating! This is why I started working with online marketers helping them to do it right, but that story is for another day.

I'm not saying the online marketing strategies put in place by these backyard marketers didn't help offline businesses. Many did help them.

What I'm saying is the results could've been far greater if implemented correctly taking into consideration the uniqueness of the offline business and factoring in key factors specific to the offline business.

In the end who really made the most money was the professional online marketers who were selling their courses to hungry, desperate people looking to make a good income from their own home-based business.

To help you better let me give you an example of a common strategy being sold to offline businesses and how it's being sold and implemented wrong...

Selling Search Engine Optimization (SEO) As A Lead Generation Strategy… It’s NOT!

Selling SEO became the top product these backyard marketers sold because it’s a huge money maker with a monthly reoccurring fee. This is where they do on-page and off-page optimization strategies, plus backlinks and numerous other things so your website shows up on the first page of the search engine results page.

After they’ve done the work for you here’s how it works. Let’s say you’re a dentist and a consumer went to Google and did a search for “Dentists in Seattle” or “Seattle Dentist”. On the 1st page of the search results page they see your business. They see your business on the 1st page because of the SEO work they did.

The consumer then clicks on the link to jump to your website. (There's a lot more to this than what I'm sharing here, I'm just trying to make a point.)

So they clicked on the link for your business taking them to your website. This ends the objective for SEO, one of the most expensive marketing services you’ll pay for, because it accomplished what it was designed to do… it sent consumers who are looking for a Dentist to your website.

Again, that’s the sole objective of what SEO does. It's important that you understand this.

It doesn’t create a lead or a client. It solely sends people looking for a business like yours to your website. We call these people “website visitors”.

Now what?

Pay very close attention… Now it’s up to your website to do the heavy lifting and turn these website visitors into a lead or client.

Did you get that?

SEO sends consumers to your website (website visitors) and then it’s up to your website to convert these visitors into a lead and/or client depending on your sales funnel.

Not knowing what the sole purpose of SEO is and that it’s the website that does the heavy lifting to turn the visitors into leads is going to massively effect the results you’ll get from your marketing dollars, the revenue you’ll generate and your business profits.

But now knowing this you can fix this critical mistake and then watch your leads, sales, revenue and profits skyrocket!

How do you fix it?

Have a "marketing driven" website created for you. One that excites and compels people to want to do business with you.

Not an informational website, but a marketing driven website. These are two distinctly different types of websites, but it's an "informational" website that are being created because that's all the high majority of website designers know.

A marketing driven website requires copywriting skills which most website designers don't have.

Once done it's not uncommon to see a 2-10 times increase in leads and sales from your SEO work. I’ve seen even higher.

There are numerous factors that play a role in how big of an increase you’ll have.

Now, having introduced you to the "marketing driven" website and the importance of it to in relationship to SEO it would be wrong of me to not take share one more key point about the importance of having an marketing driven website. This point is best illustrated from this image...

As you can see, just about everything you do in the way of marketing sends people to your website. This makes your website the absolute most important marketing asset you have! But again, if you don't have the knowledge I'm sharing in the course, "The Foundation To Marketing" you're not going to be able to create a marketing driven website specific to your market place!
